First, you would find the rate at which john was driving. Assuming he can go 0 miles in 0 hours, that would be data point (0,0). Now to find the rate of change, you take the change in y and divide it by the change in x. The change in y is 200-0=200, and the change in x is 2.5-0=2.5 . Now that you know the changes, you divide 200 by 2.5, leaving you with 80 as your constant rate of change. All you have to do now is multiply 80 by 6 leaving you with the answer of 480 miles traveled in 6 hours.
