explain why 7*x/7=x . how does your answer help solve a division equation such as x/7=2

To solve the first equation, you multiply the whole equation by the denominator, 7. That would give you 7*x=7*x.
To solve x/7=2, you multiply by the denominator, 7, again. and you get x=14.
