Natural selection is a process where organisms that are suited to a particular environment are better able to survive and reproduce than organisms that are not. On the other hand, artificial selection is the breeding of animals and plants to produce desirable traits (traits such as size or taste).

An example of artificial selection that is well known is the cross breeding of dogs.

Nature is responsible for natural selection, while humans are responsible for artificial selection.
