4( n + 1) = 8

First, apply the distributive property.

4*n = 4n
4*1 = 4

4n + 4 = 8

Now, subtract to isolate the variable.

4n + 4 = 8
     -4     -4

4n = 8 -4
4n = 4

4n/4 = 4/4
n = 1

Final answer: n = 1

Check our work! :D

4(1 + 1) = 8
4*1 = 4
4*1 = 4

4+4 = 8
8=8

CORRECT ANSWER: n = 1
