Log7+log(x-4)=1
Subtract log 7 from both sides
Log(x-4)=1-log7
As 1-log7 = log (10/7)
Log(x-4)=log (10/7)
As bases of logs are same.
we get
x-4=10/7
Add 4 to both sides
x=10/7 + 4
simplify
x=38/7

Answer: x=38/7
