Tensions grew between the Soviets and the Americans and the end of WWII due to the separation of Germany itself, and whether or not Poland should be able to choose their own government and Germany's reparations. The tensions also grew because the Soviet Union wanted to keep the Germans weak since they invaded them twice in 30 years.
