The   scope  lost  in  the  trial  but  won  in  the appeal. A  group  of  individuals  who   were  chosen  to  hear  and decide  the  case  found    the  scope  quilty. On  appeal  to  supreme  court the  statue that  prohibited  scopes  from teaching   evolution  were  upheld.
