What is a set of three dots at the end of a number to indicate that the number will infidently continue in the same pattern?

Idk if it’s the same in math but if you’re writing it’s called an ellipsis.

I know if you have a line over the top of a number after a decimal it would be referred to as a repeating number, and this is basically the same thing as said ellipsis in math.
