The former country of Yugoslavia was a Socialist state made after World War II and a bitter civil war. The Yugoslav wars were an ethnically based war and insurgencies that lasted from 1991-2001. This multi-cultural state consisted of people from many different ethnic background (Bosnian Muslims, Albanians, etc.)
