Write an equation in point-slope form of the line that passes through the given points, then write the equation in slope-intercept form.
(negative 9−9,77), (66,22)
What is the point-slope form of the equation of the line?
now we use point slope formula : y - y1 = m(x - x1)......there can be 2 answers for this...I will do both
y - y1 = m(x - x1) slope(m) = -1/3 using points (-9,7)....x1 = -9 and y1 = 7 now sub y - 7 = -1/3(x - (-9)...not done yet y - 7 = -1/3(x + 9) <== this is one answer
y - y1 = m(x - x1) slope(m) = -1/3 using points (6,2)....x1 = 6 and y1 = 2 now sub y - 2 = -1/3(x - 6) <=== this is the other answer
as far as ur slope intercept form, u can use either of ur point slope forms because the answer will be the same
y - 2 = -1/3(x - 6) y - 2 = -1/3x + 2 y = -1/3x + 2 + 2 y = -1/3x + 4 <==== slope intercept form
