[tex]\frac{17}{2} / \frac{3}{4}[/tex]

  [tex]\frac{17}{2} * \frac{4}{3} [/tex] = [tex]\frac{34}{3}[/tex]

[tex]= 11\frac{1}{3}[/tex]

can make 11 batches with 1/3 stick butter left over
