The boiling point of water compared with other members of the series can be explained by HYDROGEN BONDING.
The hydrogen bond, which holds the molecules of water together is responsible for the high boiling point of water. The hydrogen bond is a strong inter molecular force which requires a lot of heat energy to break it.
