How to quote a quote in the middle of a sentence?

begin with a little preview of the quote you will be using, then add a comma right before the quote, add the quote, finish with comma or period and explain the quote after it is stated.
example)
....In the article written by ella harris she states that, "________...", this shows that... blah blah blah.
