You could (and probably should) estimate the answer first. Round up 34.2 to 35 and round off 7.6 to 8. 35/8 = 4 3/8.
Alternatively, round off 34.2 to 30 and 7.6 to 8. Then 30/8 = 3 3/4.
Doing the division on a calculator produces 34.2/7.6 = 4.5
