So since the distance (d) is determined by the speed (60 mph) multiplied by the time travelled (t), you would write the equation as

d = 60t

This shows the relationship between the distance and the time you travel at 60 mph. Therefore if you travel for example 2 hours, you will have gone 120 total miles.
