     About 300 planets have been located around stars other than the Sun, but this is usually by indirect measurements, such as the change in their passage over their stars' gravitational field, distorting the surrounding light.

  All the extrasolar planets detected so far were a hesitation on a chart, because most of them don't reflect any luminosity.
