The slow beep means your machine is in use as it speeds up it is indicating that the battery of the machine is wearing down. If you get a fast beep upon plugging it in the machine needs to be checked as it is drawing too much power from the source. It is an indication that the AC power is disconnected so that the machine is running off the battery power.
