It wasn't very fair to the rich versus poor difference. Rich people were more appreciated for which there is a famous example. If a doctor makes a mistake and kills a rich person, his hands are to be cut off, and if he kills a poor person, then the doctor only pays a fine. Women were more respected than slaves and they could even get a divorce if they prove that their husbands are bad. They could get a divorce and go back to their parents while receiving back all the dowry that they gave for their marriage.
