Let assume two consecutive odd numbers 2x+1 and 2x+3
It is given their sum is 52.
So we can write equation as
[tex]2x+1 + 2x+3 = 52[/tex]
[tex]4x+4 = 52[/tex]

On subtraction 4 on both sides of equation

[tex]4x+4 - 4 = 52-4[/tex]
[tex]4x = 48[/tex]
[tex] \frac{4x}{4} = \frac{48}{4} [/tex]
x = 12
So the numbers are
first number is = [tex]2*12 + 1 = 25[/tex]
Second number is = [tex]2*12 + 3 = 27[/tex]

So the required numbers are 25 and 27.
