One criticism of Selye’s theory of stress is that it emphasizes the physical factors but largely ignores the influence of psychological factors. Hans Selye established his theory of the general adaptation syndrome (GAS) in 1963 which is a stress model that give details the body’s physiological reaction to stress. These responses are allocated into three stages which is the alarm, resistance and exhaustion.
