Stalin was always creating propaganda to make himself look like a hero. Stalin also told the people only what they wanted to hear or what he wanted them to believe in order to advance his agenda. He also had a habit of promoting people loyal to him, but eventually, he became a complete paranoid and he wasn't sure who was on his side.
