2x-10+4x-18=4x then its 6x-28=4x next subtract 6x from both sides, then you have -28=-2x then dividr it by -2x and X=14

Before starting since there is a 4x on both sides, subtracting 4x would eliminate those from the beginning.
2(x-5) - 18 = 0
Distribute the 2
2x -10 -18 = 0
Combine like terms
2x -28 =0
Add 28 to both sides
2x = 28
Divide both sides by 2
x = 14.

2(14-5) + 4(14) -18 = 4(14)
2(9) + 56 -18 = 56
18 + 56 - 18 = 56
