Why an animal at the top of the food chain must eat so many other animals?

because whenever they eat an animal they only get 10% of the energy so they need more in order to satisfy their bodies

To obtain energy ... The ones that are on the top do not receive at much amount of energy (which is obtained from sun) By eating more they will be able to obtain and survive
