When the price of an item was increased by $5, I bought 2 items fewer with $20. What is the
original price of the item?

$5. 

If the original price is $5, you can buy 4 items with $20. If you add $5 to the original price, it become $10, so now you can only buy 2 items, which is 2 items fewer than before.
