As you increase your x-value, is your y-ordinate increasing (growth) or decreasing (decay)?

When they're talking about initial value, they mean when x = 0, y = 8*1 = 8

Lastly, what factor are we increasing/decreasing by? The 0.4 is the only factor that will determine the y-value, since its power is dependent on the x-ordinate.
