Margaret Thatcher made a lot of reforms by cutting taxes and reducing government expenditures and control over money supply.  She saw that there is a relationship between monetarism and inflation that can control the rate of unemployed people.  By doing the reforms, she believed that social problems like unemployment can be reduced.
