A fixed verse poem is a type of poem which follows a format, usually the number of words in a line, and the number of lines in a stanza, are restricted. There are several types of a fixed verse poem. An example is a Haiku which follows a 5-7-5 rule, this is a three-line poem which has 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second and 5 in the 3rd line.
