The battle of Stalingrad was important, for it was the turning point of the ww2 in the eastern front (significantly) and the western front (not as much). This battle was a german lost because Hitler did NOT allow Germans to retreat after taking the city, even though the Germans were inadequate in weathering the natural conditions that aroused during the winter. Many German troops starved or froze to death, and General Paulus of the German army surrender with the last of his Nazi troops at the end
