What gives protists the classification of being eukaryotic?

Protists are a part of the kingdom Protista, and therefore, are classified as eukaryotes. These single-celled organisms are significantly different from single-celled bacterial cells, of which are classified as prokaryotes. Protists are not bacterial cells and this is why they are classified as a Eukaryote.
