HINT: PEMDAS

[tex]17-(6-3*5)[/tex]

Multiply 3*5 first

3*5=15

Then subtract 15 from 6

6-15 = (-9)

Then subtract (-9) (or add 9) from/to 17

17-(-9) = 17+9 = 26

Answer equals 26.
