first solve the first equation equal to y
y+6=2x
y=2x-6
then substitute the 2x-6 in for y in the second equation
6x-10(2x-6)=37
now solve for x
6x-20x+60=37
6x-20x=-23
-14x=-23
x=1.64
then put the x value back into the first equation
y=2(1.64)-6
y=3.28-6
y=-2.72
