In a series string of 60
lights, where if one bulb burns out that light bulb is designed to short
out to allow the remaining lights to continue burning, a different
design philosophy is employed...
Here the bulbs are designed to burn at a reduced brightness so if a few
bulbs burn out the remaining bulbs are not burning at a point beyond
their capability....
