First expand
-5-(15x-1)=2(7x-16)-x
-5-15x+1=14x-32-x

Combine

-15x-4=13x-32

Answer:

[tex]-5-\left(15x-1\right)=2\left(7x-16\right)-x[/tex]

[tex]-15x-4=13x-32[/tex]

[tex]-15x-4+4=13x-32+4[/tex]

[tex]-15x=13x-28[/tex]

[tex]-15x-13x=13x-28-13x[/tex]

[tex]-28x=-28[/tex]

[tex]\frac{-28x}{-28}=\frac{-28}{-28}[/tex]

[tex]x=1[/tex]
