1) many soldiers died because of diseases in unhealthy hospital conditions.

2) having more guards and officers would help make sure the soldiers are on track for a safe recovery.

3) they would benefit in a farm family because they would get lots of rest, fresh air, and food. it may keep soldiers from going home to have a break
