2/30 = x/105......2 hrs to 30 miles = x hrs to 105 miles
cross multiply
(30)(x) = (2)(105)
30x = 210
x = 210/30
x = 7.........it would take 7 hrs

To solve this problem, I like to use the "bowtie" method:

2 hours  =   30 miles
x hours       105 miles

To use the bowtie method, multiply 2 hours by 105 miles and divide this product by 30 miles:

x= 2 hours x 105 miles ÷ 30 miles
x= 7 hours

Therefore, it takes 7 hours to travel 105 miles!
