Let the number be x.

From the given question,

1. Number minus 8

  • x - 8 ..... (I)

2. Number divided by 2

  • x/2 ..... (II)

ATQ : (I) = (II)

⭆ x - 8 = x/2

⭆ 2(x -8) = x

⭆ 2x - 16 = x

⭆ 2x - x = 16

⭆ x = 16
