First find the slope:
m= (y₂-y₁)/(x₂-x₁)
m= (-7- -1)/(-1- -4)
m= -6/3
m= -2
now use the point-slope formula using one point and the slope - you can use either point given
y-y₁ = m(x-x₁)
y- -1 = -2(x- -4)
y- -1 = -2x - 8
2x + y = -9
