This question varies. The Mayas did discover many things but were also wrong in some stuff. The supposed calendar Maya or also called Aztec calendar, was some sort of layout showing the galaxy, but it was only 2012 years long. which we all know that the world was supposed to end in 2012 which it didn't. But we still don't know all the meanings behind every Maya architecture
