Hey there,
when you flip something over the y-axis the y-coordinates stay the same while the x-coordinates are transformed into their opposites.
For example, given the point (2,3) and have it reflect over the y-axis your new point would be (-2, 3).
Therefore, the y-coordinates remain the same during a reflection over the y-axis.
