Hello there,

In order to find the equation you would need to use the slope intercept form:

  • [tex]\frac{y_{2} - y_{1} }{x_{2} - x_{1} }[/tex]

Now we plug in and solve for the slope:

  • [tex]\frac{0-1}{0-(-3)}[/tex] = [tex]\frac{-1}{3}[/tex]

Now we plug into y = mx + b to solve for the y-intercept:

  • 0 = -[tex]\frac{1}{3}[/tex](0) + b which gives you 0 for the y-intercept

So the equation would have to be y = [tex]-\frac{1}{3}[/tex] +0 or just y = [tex]-\frac{1}{3}[/tex]

Hope I helped,

Amna
