You can divide [tex]9[/tex] by [tex] \frac{3}{5} [/tex] to find the amount of pins, (let's call this number [tex]x[/tex]), you can make with [tex]9 $ ft$[/tex] of ribbon.

[tex]x=9 \div \frac{3}{5} \\ \\ x= \frac{9}{1} \div \frac{3}{5} \\ \\ x= \frac{9}{1} \times \frac{5}{3} \\ \\ x= \frac{9 \times 5}{1 \times 3} \\ \\ x= \frac{45}{3} \\ \\ x=15[/tex]

So, [tex]15[/tex] pins can be made.
