Write an equation for the following situation in a linear relation: Mr. Wright has $25000 and spends $200 per week.

Answer:  y = -200x + 25000

x is the number of weeks that go by

y is the amount of money Mr Wright has left over.

He starts with 25000 and each week we subtract off 200 for each week. Do this for x weeks and you subtract off 200x. So we have 25000 - 200x which is the same as  -200x + 25000
