Lets just assume that each side length of the triangle is 4 inches.

To find the perimeter we can multiply one side by 4: 4 * 4 = 16in. (perimeter)

Now, if each side was tripled (4 * 3 = 12) the perimeter will be different. The perimeter of this new square is: 12 * 4 = 48in.

Finally, divide by the old perimeter to see how much the perimeter was multiplied by.

48 / 16 = 3

Therefore, the perimeter was multiplied by 3.
