The nucleus is the atoms center. It contains the nucleons (protons & neutrons) and is positively charged.

The nucleus or core of an atom is made up of protons which have a positive charge and neutrons which have no charge. Outside the nucleus, we have subatomic particles called electrons that have a negative charge.
