Answer:

There are a lote of examples for a real world problem that could be solve with the equation, you need that the x in both sides represents the same thing.

This is what i came up with:

Sam bought 7.5 kilos of oranges, which cost the same as buying 5.5 kilos of oranges plus $ 25

The equation that describes the above is

[tex]7.5x = 5.5x + 25[/tex]

where x is kilograms of orange.

Solving for x you will find the cost of 1 kilogram:

[tex]7.5x-5.5x=25\\2x=25\\x=12.5[/tex]
