3/3 feet is 1 foot, so the rectangle had dimensions of 1 and 1/12, you find area by multiplying length times width. 1/12 foot is 1 inch. convert the 1 foot to inches which is 12. 1 inch times 12 inches is 12 inches. the rectangle is 12 sq inch
