World war 2 has popularly been called the “good war”. Do you agree with this assessment? Why do you think it earned that nickname ?

I agree with it, depending on the reason associated.

For me, World War II can be considered a "good" war because of the clear purpose. On one side, you had "bad" Germany and Japan who were either guilty for killing Jewish people or Pearl Harbor and on the "good side", the US. So, for US soldiers, they felt like they were on the right side of history. As a result, they saw it as good.
