Answer:

A) 5(y-1)=3(y-4)

distribute first: 5y-5=3y-12

Then solve: 8y=-17

y=-17/8

B) -3y-5=6

-3y=1

y=1/3

C) -4(y+1)=2(y-5)

-4y-4=2y-10

2y=-6

y=-3
