we are given

system of equations

[tex]y=4x[/tex]

[tex]3x+5y=-46[/tex]

we can plug first equation into second equation

we get

[tex]3x+5(4x)=-46[/tex]

Simplify left side

[tex]3x+20x=-46[/tex]

[tex]23x=-46[/tex]

Divide both sides by 23

and we get

[tex]x=-2[/tex]

now, we can find y-value

[tex]y=4*-2[/tex]

[tex]y=-8[/tex]

so, our solution is

[tex](x,y)=(-2,-8)[/tex].............Answer
