Solve the equation for y. 6x-3y=18

Mkay, so this is a fairly easy equation.

So the starting equation is  6x- 3y=18

and -6 to both sides to cancel out 6x
sooo, it would look like this:
 6x-3y=18
-6        -6
-3y=18- 6x

Now, your going to divide each side by -3
and it would look like this:

-3y=18-6x
 3          3
 
so, y= -6 + 2x

3y=6x-18 (Divide each term by 3)

y=2x-6
